The CHROMA is very fast, scanning an E-size (A0) color original at 400 dpi turbo in only 18 seconds. Color is captured at 36 bits for maximum color precision, passing the best 24 bits of color data to the computer to enhance color fidelity.
Image Enhancement Power

The CHROMA’s on-board real time color correction and 2D-filters for color sharpening, softening and blur provide superior results with a wide variety of input images. Scanning technology opens new horizons with Dual 2D-Adaptive enhancement. Processing is performed simultaneously and in real-time on individual aspects of the original. Enhancement includes ADL+ error diffusion halftoning, 2D-Adaptive foreground thresholding, 2D-Adaptive background suppression and 2D-Auto edge enhancement. Equipped with this image enhancement power you can always produce clean, crisp scans even from poor quality drawings.
On the CHROMA 8040, all enhancement processing is embedded in the hardware enabling you to perform powerful image enhancement with-out scanning time overhead and at speeds incomparable to standard soft-ware image enhancement processing.
Copying Made Easy

The CHROMA color scanner meets all your professional copy needs. Connect the scanner with a large-format printer and you get the perfect large-format color and monochrome digital copier. Using JETimage copy software or other color RIP packages, you can achieve excellent color quality output on large-format printers. ADL+ error diffusion halftoning will copy your most demanding B/W and graytone originals with all the shades of gray intact on your printed output.



Use the optional Copy Kit to mount your PC and touchscreen directly on the scanner. Attach your large-format printer and create a convenient copy configuration that is always ready to use.
The three CHROMA 40" scanner models differ in performance from entry level to high-end and can be easily upgraded with new features for future requirements through the Smart-Card Upgrade Kit.
